Philips Respironics announced a recall notification (U.S. only) / field safety notice (Outside of U.S.) for Continuous and Non-Continuous Ventilators (certain CPAP, BiLevel PAP and Ventilator Devices) due to two issues related to the polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) sound abatement foam used in these devices. For information, a complete list of impacted products, and potential health risks, visit philips.com/src-update. When visiting this website, we encourage you to register your device for future repair/replacement. The pathway for registration can be found in the section labeled "Patients, Users, or Caregivers". In that section, you will also find a phone number that you can call to ask questions and verify that you have an impacted machine. For additional information, you can also reach out to us directly. We understand that this information can be alarming. In conversations that we have had with our contacts at Philips Respironics it has been noted that, with the information that is currently available, it appears that percentage of machines that are impacted is very low. However, out of an abundance of caution, they have decided to recall all machines that contain the polyester based polyurethane foam that was found to be the source of the issues. To speak directly to a Respironics representative please call 877-907-7508.
